Out Of A Tuneless Radio

by Willi Brown

She backed the car

into a chrome daydream

and proceeded to make

up her face in the

rearview mirror as

the radio told her of

an electric disaster

in the town of her birth

and that driving there

would now be out of the

question and she would

have to learn to fly

in her dreams and

visit surreptitiously in

the hours before dawn

if she ever wanted

to see that town

alive

again.
